2018 Concours d'Elegance Paleis het Loo - Apeldoorn (NL)

A last gasp from the old Riley company before receivership in February 1938 and sale to Lord Nuffield in September 1938. The Victor was the cheapest model in Riley's range at £299, for both the 9HP and 12 HP variants. Briggs also built the bodies for the 1938 Touring saloon (styling ancestor of the post-war Rileys), Falcons and Merlins. The more expensive Adelphi, Kestrel and Lynx models continued with Riley bodies with aluminium body components such as bonnets. The 1938 models were noted for the absence of bonnet louvres and the radiator grilles with vertical chrome slats - they are easily distinguishable from the earlier cars. Only around 180 were made of this model.
