De Sanctis was a small Italian race car constructor based in Rome. They are best known for winning the 1966 Italian Formula 3 championship with driver Jonathan Williams. De Sanctis also built a few sportscars like this Sport 1000 (or SP 1000) which was based on their Formula 3 chassis and powered by a 1000 cc Ford engine. Cars like these were mostly raced locally in Italy and competed with cars like the Lotus 23.
