This make (officially Röhr) only existed for a short while: from 1927 till 1935 and an odd 3500 cars were made (of which only 350 of the type shown here). The Röhr 8 was an advanced car for its time, with fully independent suspension and a compact but complicated small displacement 8 cylinder engine. In the case of the Type RA it was a 2.5 liter with two cylinder banks placed at a very small angle of 10 degrees (it was still regarded as a straight 8).
These cars were quite expensive (about the price of a contemporary Mercedes 320) and suffered from some teething problems which ultimately lead to the demise of the company.
