Only 11 cabriolet versions were made of the Facel Vega FV2B and this isn't one of them. In fact, this was a FV2B coupe of which the top was chopped off to create a cabriolet. Extensive effort was made to turn it into an absolutely beautiful car along the lines of the original but still: mutilating a rare car (only 73 FV2B cars were made in total) to create a replica feels wrong to me.
I don't know what this does to the value of the car (it seems a bit like a plastic Rolex: not the real thing) but I'm sure there will be buyers for it. On the one hand it's an abomination and on the other probably the closest I'll get to seeing a beautiful FV2B cabriolet (only 5 real ones have survived)...
