Unlike the SS 1 (which had a bespoke chassis), the SS 2 used the engine and chassis of a Standard Nine. The car shown here was the first SS 2 coupe produced of the last series, it has chassis number 300001, with a longer chassis and more elegant bodywork and a choice of 10 HP or 12 HP engines.
