Alpine M63 Le Mans Group P 1963
2018 Antwerp Classic Salon - Antwerpen (B)

The M63 was the first attempt by French sportscar manufacturer Alpine to construct a competition prototype for the Le Mans 24 hour race. It was aimed at winning the "index of performance" award and fitted with a small 1 liter 4 cylinder engine. Though it proved to be competitive at its first race, the Nürburgring 1000 km in Germany, all 3 M63s entered in the 1963 Le Mans did not finish the race.
For the 1964 season it was revised (M64) and again in 1965 (M65) before it was developed into the successful A210 Group 6 racer in 1966. In total 5 Alpine M63 sportscars were made.
