HRG (named after founders Halford, Robins & Godfrey) started in 1936 with producing very traditional British open 2-seater sports cars. In 1939 the 1500 model with a modern Singer overhead valve engine was introduced, still in a by then vintage looking design. But the company started experimenting with fitting more streamlined bodywork which resulted in this prototype (chassis number W77). After the War it lead to the 1500 Aerodynamic model, produced from 1945 till 1949. Only 45 were made.
