Mazda 1300 Familia Presto FA3 S1 2-door coupe 1973
2018 Antwerp Classic Salon - Antwerpen (B)
The second generation of the Mazda Familia was introduced in Europe as the 1200 (type FA2) in 1968 and was replaced by the 1300 (type FA3) in 1970. It proved to be quite a popular import car and many found their way to the European roads in the early '70s. Even if it was a common sight up to the '80s it was mainly the 2 and 4 door sedans that established the Mazda name on the European continent. The 2-door coupe was rare and I can't recall ever seeing one before.
Most Mazdas 1200/1300 were unceremoniously scrapped so it's surprising to find a coupe in nearly pristine condition. And it's an original Dutch car, first registered in October 1974, so I guess it stood a good long while at some dealer's before it found a proud owner.
