Mercury Series 1CM Sport Sedan 1951
2017 Classic Days Schloss Dyck - Aldenhoven (D)

Not a rare car at all but I think it's simply beautiful: the Mercury Eight of 1951. Its sleek pontoon style body was introduced for the 1949 model year and formed a clean break with traditional 1940s styling. 1951 was the last year for this design; the 1952 models were less elegant looking. This translated directly into the sales figures: the 1951 Sport Sedan was sold 157,648 times, the highest figure in three years production, while the 1952 4-door sedan (all versions) "only" sold 83,475 times.
In contrast to the large amount that was produced of this car it's only rarely seen in Europe.
