Alpine A108 2+2 by Chappe & Gessalin 1961
2017 Concours d'Elegance Paleis het Loo - Apeldoorn (NL)

A rare and short-lived version of the A108 which ultimately lead to the iconic A110. It was Alpine's first attempt to construct a 4-seater car. For that purpose a new chassis was made with a longer wheelbase for which French coachbuilder Chappe & Gessalin created a new notch-back design with 2 very small seats in the rear. It was introduced in 1960 and replaced by the new A110 GT4 in 1962. Just 100 were made of the A108 2+2, powered by various Renault engines, and only a handful remain. Its new chassis however formed the basis of the A110 models that followed.
