2019 InterClassics - Maastricht (NL)

Between 1934 and 1936 the Italian Lancia Augusta was also produced in France under the Belna model name. In addition to the standard factory bodies about 500 chassis were delivered to external coachbuilders. An interesting version of these custom made Belnas is this Eclipse convertible coupe version made by Marcel Pourtout after a design by Georges Paulin. Of course this retractable hardtop design was made famous by the contemporary Peugeot 402 Eclipse (also by Paulin/Pourtout) but it was available on other Peugeot chassis and those of various other French manufacturers as well.
