Fiat 1100/103 Tipo A berlina 1955
2019 Antwerp Classic Salon - Antwerpen (B)

Introduced in 1953 as the Nuova 1100 the Fiat 1100/103 (103 was its project number) matched a state-of-the-art pontoon style body with unibody construction to the proven mechanics of the outgoing 1100 E, essentially dating back to the pre-war Balilla model. It proved to be a huge success and, being continually updated, was produced up to 1969.
Still it's rare to find a basic (the Tipo A was the entry-level version) 1100/103 berlina from the first series, which was produced until June 1956, even though many were made. As it was just a regular car, most of them were just run down and demolished. That makes this rare survivor a nice time capsule.
