Grout from Orange, Massachusetts was one of the many car manufacturers that sprang up in the USA during the first decade of the 20th century. It started out making steam powered cars, culminating in this fancy boiler fronted model complete with locomotive style front light and cow guard. From 1905 Grout switched to petrol engined cars of more conventional design. These were however less successful than the previous steam powered cars and in 1912 production of Grout cars ended.
