Willys Knight Great Six Model 66A varsity roadster 1928
2017 Antwerp Classic Salon - Antwerpen (B)

Willys was one of the few car manufacturers to offer sleeve valve engines after the Knight patent. From the first Willys car in 1915 up to the 1933 model year Knight-type cars were part of the line-up. The advantage of this design was that the engine ran smooth and silent. It also had drawbacks; mainly it caused the engine to burn more lubrication oil, resulting in a plume of blue smoke from the exhaust, especially at low speeds.
This 6-cylinder Model 66A was offered from 1927 till 1929; a popular middle class car offering 70 hp and a choice of two wheelbases and a variety of bodywork, ranging from a roadster to a limousine.
