The Aurelia GT has become such an icon that it might not seem so special anymore, though less than 4000 have been produced in total during 8 years. It is however rare to find one of the first 2 series with the 2 Litre V6 engine outside of Italy. What makes these versions special is not only the engine, but the design of the rear of the car.
The first two series best resemble the original design by Mario Felice Boano for Ghia. Boano's design featured a squared off rear end with small fins incorporating the rear lights. Later versions received a more rounded tail typical for Pininfarina, the coachbuilder who was contracted to build the bodies after the first 98 cars were delivered. Only 731 were made of the series 2 version, and in my opinion it's the best looking of all 6 series. After the production of this series ended in 1953 the engine for the GT was enlarged to a displacement of 2.5 Litre, turning it into the better known GT 2500.
A nice feature of this car are the Art-Deco style headlights, another thing unique to the 2 Litre Aurelia GT.
