Sovam is an engineering firm from Parthenay in France which made bodywork for commercial vehicles and mobile shops, and later specialized in manufacturing transport equipment for airports. For a few years they also produced sportscars based on the Renault 4 platform. These cars featured fiberglass bodies designed by Jacques Durand, a well-known French sportscar designer. First model was the 850 Voiture de Sport (VS), unveiled in 1964 and produced started in 1965. Later followed by the more powerful 1100 VS and 1300 GS models. Production of the Sovam sportscars was ended in 1968 after around l60 cars were manufactured.
