Wanderer W11 10/50 PS pullman landaulet by Hornig 1929
2016 Classic Days Schloss Dyck - Aldenhoven (D)

German car make Wanderer is all but forgotten now, but before the second World War it was the middle class car branch of the Auto-Union concern (with DKW being at the lower end and Horch at the upper). The Type W11 (1928-1933) was a stately car powered by a 2.5 litre straight 6 cylinder engine and could be had in various coachbuilt body styles. This car shows a bespoke landaulet limousine body by Hornig from Meerane in East Germany.
Hornig was known for excellent workmanship and rather plain designs. Either way the company was long lived, dating back to 1869 and continuing up to 1991. After World War 2 Hornig was renamed to IFA Meerane and best known for producing the plastic bodies for the Trabant.
