Abarth Simca 1150 SS Corsa 1963
2020 Antwerp Classic Salon - Antwerpen (B)
In 1963 Abarth introduced a model range based on the French Simca 1000. They were available in a number of increasingly powerful models: the 1150, 1150 S, 1150 SS and the ultimate 1150 SS Corsa which was meant as a racing car. Where the standard Simca 1000 offered a top speed of 130 kph, the tuned versions by Abarth offered at least 150 kph and up to 173 kph for the 1150 SS Corsa.
The Abarth versions of the Simca 1000 were however relatively expensive and proved less popular compared to Abarth's Fiat based models. As a result only 10 were sold of the 1150 SS Corsa shown here.
