Fiat 1500 Sportinia coupe by Scioneri 1966
2016 Antwerp Classic Salon - Antwerpen (B)

Carrozzeria Scioneri is one of the smaller Italian coachbuilders. Established in 1943 it mostly specialized in upgrading and modifying existing production models but in the 1960s also a number of original body designs were manufactured, usually on Fiat platforms. Most designs were made by Giovanni Michelotti, who styled 6 different models for Scioneri, like this Sportinia coupe.
About 20 were made of this 2-door 4-seater model and it seems that only this car remains. It features the typical Michelotti touch: clear lines, well proportioned and with some tasteful chrome accents. The roofline shows some similarity to that of the BMW 1500 of 1962, a design Michelotti also contributed to.
