Speedsport Type PE Course 1925
2016 Antwerp Classic Salon - Antwerpen (B)
In Belgium the Ford Model T was assembled in Brussels by a company named Bartsoen en Bonar. In 1923 they unveiled two special models based on the Model T but with a more sporty character and sold them under the name "Speedford" from 1924. After some success in competition this name was changed into Speedsport.
Their most remarkable model was a racing car in the 3 Litre class with a 16 valve cylinder head, of which this Type PE is an example. It could reach a top speed of around 160 kph. Impressive for a direct relative of "Tin Lizzy". Still, Speedsport only survived until 1927.
