2022 Antwerp Concours - Wijnegem (B)

A remarkable design by Dennis and Peter Adams for British sports car brand Marcos, intended to take part in the 1968 Le Mans 24 Hours race. Originally powered by a Brabham Repco F1 engine and built around a plywood monocoque chassis, only 1 was built which raced just once. Company founder Jem Marsh drove it in the 1968 Spa 1000 Kilometers race in Belgium, but didn't finish because of water damage to the electrical system due to the bad weather conditions. Before it could take part in the Le Mans race Marcos ran into serious financial problems and the car was sold to a customer in the USA, where it still resides today.
The car shown here is a reconstruction which was registered in 1970.
